Dear aficionados,

My name is Rafael Nodal and I make the Oliveros Cigars.

I was born in Cuba, but during the last 29 years, I have been living in the United States of America, first in New York City and now in Miami, Florida. My family has been in the cigar industry for over 3 generations as tobacco growers, since they immigrated to Cuba from Spain in the 1800’s. Now, I have the opportunity to continue their work as an emigrant living in the USA. I am a musician by training and an entrepreneur at heart, but above all, a man that enjoys cigars.

Welcome to my blog! First, I would like to say thank you to Cigar Clan for the opportunity to share my thoughts about the topics that are important to me and other cigars enthusiasts, like the state of the cigar industry in the US, the smoking bans in many cities in the US and other countries, the characteristics of the Dominican, Nicaraguan and Honduran tobacco as well as other tobacco producing regions around the world. As I mentioned before I am the maker of Oliveros Cigars. I enjoy not only the cigars that I blend, but I also enjoy many other cigar brands. This is a great time to be a cigar smoker as the current variety of flavors and textures available is unprecedented in the cigar industry. As manufacturers, we are constantly experimenting with different tobacco seeds, and blending tobacco from many parts of the world, creating new smoking experiences.

In this blog, we will be able to discuss any and all topics related to cigars, as long as it is discussed with respect. This is a great opportunity to share my ideas, but also to learn from other people that share my passion for cigars, just like my ancestors did in Cuba for over 3 generations. I will be able to write from the Oliveros factories in the Dominican Republic, Nicaragua or Honduras, or from my distribution center in Miami, USA or as I visit cigar stores around the US or around the world. Thank you again Cigar Clan for this opportunity.
