Oliveros and the new releases of the IPCPR 2011
The year 2011, has not been a good year in general for global economies, but it has been an excellent year for Oliveros. 2011 in a way, is a continuation of our new focus in boutique blends. It all started last year with the release of the Swag Puro Dominicano, and continues this year, with the release of our Aging Room Small Batch, and the new Oliveros Sun Grown Reserve and the Swag Puro Dominicano Limitado 99.
The Slogan "A New Vision, powered by our Traditions" really reflects our commitment to releasing more complex blends, with more body and character.
The Swag Puro Dominicano is a prime example of our new concept. We have taken the best that the Dominican Cigar has traditionally offered, flavor and aroma, and with the help of the tobacco selection and growing methods, it also offers, character and body found until now only in Cuban and Nicaraguan Cigars. The Swag Puro Dominicano is not your father's Dominican Cigar, it is a cigar for a new bread of smokers, a more mature aficionado with a more mature palate.
The Aging Room that was release at the 2011 IPCPR trade Show in Las Vegas, is another innovated concept, that will allow us to release small batch blends, made from rare and limited availability tobaccos. When Hank, my partner, and I, were working on the blend for the Swag, Puro Dominicano, we came across a great tobacco from Jose (Joshie) Blanco. Jose Blanco, is one of the most recognized growers in Dominican Republic. The tobacco that Jose gave us to try, was great for our new blend, however it was limited and we were not able to use it in the Swag project. We continue to use Jose's tobacco for our own use and after two years, we decided to make the Aging Room Small Batch. The tobacco of this blend, is all Ligero from a single Dominican Farm.
The Oliveros Sun Grown Reserve, is a true Nicaraguan Puro. The blend, incorporate s tobacco form Esteli and Condega, with a beautifull Sung Grown, extra aged Jalapa Wrapper. The new Oliveros Logo was also incorporated in the design of the Sung Grown Reserve. This is a great smoke, considered by many online bloggers and aficionados, as the best new release of the IPCPR show. Considering the amount of new release at the show, it is quite an honor to hear that this was the favorite of many cigar store owners and online reviewers. This cigar is powerful, but well balance with outstanding character and a complex flavor.
It is great to see that our new vision of Oliveros is paying off, and that our new boutique blends are been accepted well by new and season aficionados as well.
